Pneumatic Conveyance

Injection directly into the furnace. Top pipe: Sewage sludge 4 to/h, 30m length Bottom pipe: Coal 5 to/h, 136m length, Holcim SA, Eclepéns

Fluff (synthetic material chips) Transport, Jura cement works, Wildegg

With pneumatic conveyance, the material is transported through tubes by the direct or indirect influence of air. These methods are suitable for non-adherent, dusty or fine grain materials, such as cement, ashes, lime stone, sand etc.

Depending on the material to be conveyed, different pressures must be used.

Technical Details

The vacuum and pressurized air must be carefully calculated and construed. The length and rate of conveyance are too dependant on the product and the means of conveyance (horizontal/vertical, number of bends, etc.) to be able to give more than general details here. Overall, it can be said that with pneumatic conveyance great distances can be overcome with little space requirements.

Possible Loading Objectives:

Cyclone (total separator)
The air is separated from the product, which is stored temporarily or transported further by mechanical conveyance systems.

Storage bins
Product and air are blown directly into the storage room. The air is exhausted out of the silo with ventilators and cleaned by a filter.

Incinerator
Direct injection into the combustion chamber. Apart from the product, the air (oxygen) also delivers heat energy.
