Paper Sludge

As a result of the manufacture of paper, paper sludge gets into the sewage plants. The sludge is a high value fuel, which is for the most part fed into the own energy centres for combustion.

Because of the flexible production, the paper sludge has different qualities that must be taken into account when handling.

Delivery occurs internally within the company, mainly with mechanical conveyance facilities such as chain conveyors, belt conveyors or screw conveyors. As paper sludge is very abrasive, special attention must be given to wear protection of the devices. Furthermore, belt conveyors in particular must be equipped with special scraping devices as paper sludge is of sticky consistency.

Transport is by mechanical conveyance facilities. Chain conveyors, belt conveyors and screw conveyors are particularly suitable.

During some years, a complete new metering system with coordinated function units has been developed. It has been optimized for many different secondary fuels and successfully proven over a longer period of time
